Professor MacDonald has taught ceramics at Syracuse University since 1971.
His personal work reflects his fascination with all forms of African surface decoration. The work is stoneware and decorated with iron saturated glaze that is a deep brown breaking to black. Accent glazes are an opaque white or a translucent celadon green. The carved designs are unglazed stoneware.
All the pots are functional.
Professor MacDonald accepts commissions.
